In about 9 seconds shy of a minute, junior Jacob Rees can swim four lengths of a pool, and he's just one
of the many Brookwood swimmers fast enough to break a minute.  Come cheer on our Bronco swimmers
and divers this weekend at the Clody Invitational at the Mountain Park Aquatics Center.
Academics
Brookwood participated in the Lockheed Martin Code Quest competition. The team of Kevin Tian, Susan Zhang and Caitlin Costello placed 1st in the Novice division. Caitlin Costello and Jessie Merrida placed 1st and 3rd, respectively, in the costume contest.

Free tutoring options after school include peer tutoring by Beta Club members, Monday-Thursday, in B35, 2:25-3:25 p.m. and Freshmen Academy in F1 with teacher instruction and senior tutors, Monday-Thursday, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Visit the 9th grade office or click this link to sign up for the Academy. Final Exam Care Packages are still available. Download the order form and submit payment. All proceeds go to the National Honor Society Scholarship.

Band Concert

December 2, 7:00 p.m. in The Commons, featuring the Crews and Five Forks 8th grade bands, BHS's Maroon and Gold Band, Percussion Ensemble and Concert Band

Orchestra
December 11, 6:00 p.m. in The Commons: Philharmonic Orchestra's Annual Side-by-Side Concert featuring 8th grade orchestra students from Crews and Five Forks middle schools.

Theater
December 11-13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Theater: A night for the entire family. "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," followed by fun holiday activities. Adult tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door. Tickets for children under age 12 are $5.

Connect to Brookwood 

Brookwood Talent Show Auditions are December 2 and 3. Everyone must sign up with Mr. Kling in Room A104 for a time slot.  Bands must submit a video to Mr. Kling via YouTube. The show will be held on January 16.

The BHS/HHH Powder Puff Game will be held on December 13, 11:00 a.m. @ Brookwood Stadium. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $5. 

 

Clubs 

 

Best Club is selling 

$1 root beer floats at The Commons during all lunches, December 2-4. Proceeds will help fund the club's upcoming field trip.

 

BHS DECA Club members were among 247 students who competed in the DECA State Entrepreneurship Testing Competitive Event. BHS claimed four of the top 12 spots, and Broncos Kevin Tian, Grace Puckett and Caitlin Castello were among the top 10, qualifying them for the International DECA Competition in April.

 

Ice Hockey Club has games on December 1, 8:50 p.m., (Brookwood A vs Harrison A) and  December 3, 9:20 p.m. (Brookwood AA vs Forstyth AA). Both games are at the Duluth Ice Forum.

 

Interact Club will meet December 1, 2:20 p.m. in Room B32.
