Friday, October 17, is Youth Night at the Brookwood.
Brookwood youth cheerleaders and football players join our Broncos on the field
 before the game, and Crews and Five Forks Middle School band members perform during halftime.
Academics

Beta Club held its annual Induction Ceremony, welcoming 114 new members. Pictured are club officers Jin Soo Kim, Asad Lalani, Sheeba Mathew, Laboni Hoque, Felix Joseph, Renie George and Susan Zhang with club sponsor Ms. Morrison.

Senior Class Meeting with Balfour is Monday, October 20, during 2nd period. Boys meet in The Commons; girls meet in the Gold Gym.

Freshman Academy for Math and Biology is Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch in the Gold Gym. Sign up is in the 9th grade office. Students are tutored for 35 minutes, then released for lunch.

Students taking the October 25 ACT: Come to the Media Center October 22, 2:30-3:15 p.m. for a free prep video session offered by The Princeton Review.

 

Prepare for the November 8 SAT. 
Brookwood Community School offers a 6-class SAT Prep series for $94, beginning October 20. The Media Center offers free videos October 28-30 and November 3-6. Learn more about these classes online.

Seniors applying to GGC: Georgia Gwinnett College will waive its $20 application fee, from October 18 through November 21. 

 

Paying for College webinars sponsored by Wells Fargo are offered four time this fall at no charge, but space is limited. The 30-minute webinars contain no commercial content and end with a Q&A session:

 - October 23, 12:00 p.m.

 - October 28, 2:00 p.m.

 - November 6, 12:00 p.m.

 - November 13, 1:00 p.m.

 

Final Exam Care Packages can be reserved now until exam time. Simply download the order form and submit payment. All proceeds go to the National Honor Society Scholarship.

Broadway to Brookwood, Urinetown is a Tony Award-winning satirical comedy.  Admission is $10.

Urinetown delivers on clever songs and hearty laughter, while it pokes some fun at corporate greed.

Canned Food Drive, sponsored by the BHS Dance Department and part of the Great Days of Service, is October 20-24. Bring cans or cash to the Dance Room (D6). All BHS clubs and organizations are encouraged to participate. Top club gets $100.


Halloween and Horrors Team Trivia is this month's Wonderful Wednesday, October 29.  Teams of four students must sign up in the Media Center.

French and German Clubs will meet together on October 22, 2:25 p.m. in The Commons to

Reading Club will meet October 29, 2:30 p.m. in the Media Center to share scary book recommendations.

 

BHS Outdoor Club kayaked on
the  Broad River last month.

Outdoor Club will have its next trip on October 24-25, camping on the Chattooga River.

 

Key Club will meet October 20, 7:00 p.m. in The Commons for community service and cupcake decorating. 

 

Ultimate Frisbee Club will hold a pre-season informational meeting October 23, 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center. New members are welcome.
