A MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL FORD

Greetings!

Brookwood students and faculty have long supported charities through fund raisers and hands-on service. From entertaining events and online challenges to labor-intensive projects and direct contributions, we've helped make a difference for several organizations in Snellville and beyond. Last year alone, Brookwood raised and donated $25,000 to charities.

This year, our Student Government Association (SGA) has taken Bronco philanthropy to new heights by initiating the Brookwood $100K Challenge. This is a lofty goal, but by uniting our more than 50 clubs and 20 athletic teams, we're optimistic that we can reach it. After only a month and a half into the school year, we've already raised thousands for The ALS Association, Amanda Riley Foundation and other organizations. Next month, several more clubs and teams will hold events to generate donations and attention to worthy causes.

We'll keep you posted throughout the year as we advance toward our goal of $100,000 in donations to local and national charities. Thank you for your continued support for the students, their clubs and the Brookwood community.

Go Broncos!

Brookwood Recognized by Gwinnett's

Green & Healthy School Program

Named a "Reaching Higher School" again this year, Brookwood is among the highest category in the county's Green & Healthy School Program, a joint initiative of Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful and Gwinnett County Public Schools. Our Science Department Co-Chair Ms. Settles is on the steering committee, heads Brookwood's efforts in this area, and later this school year will oversee the installation of a solar panel for our school, installed by Walton EMC in collaboration with Green Power EMC and GCPS.

If Ms. Settle's name sounds familiar, perhaps it is because she was recently voted 2014-15 Brookwood High School Teacher of the Year. She is also one of 26 educators across the district to be selected as a semi-finalist for Gwinnett County Public Schools Teacher of the Year.
