Donna Varzaly has been running Brookwood's College & Career Room for 13 years. Her office, within the counseling office (A1), is for students and their parents to research colleges, vocational and technical schools, careers and scholarships using research materials, catalogs, videos and software programs. SAT and ACT registration (and friendly advice!) are also available in the College & Career Room.
A MESSAGE FROM THE COLLEGE & CAREER ROOM

Greetings!

Most seniors are probably feeling nervous about all there is to do to plan for the future. In the coming months, the Class of 2014 and their parents will be making some big decisions about what comes after high school.  What is the best way for students to narrow down the choices?  A good start might be visiting with some of the college and armed forces admission reps who will visit Brookwood all year.

During these visits, interested students can meet in small groups to discuss topics like academic programs, campus life, financial aid, and admission procedures. Visits are planned in advance and posted in school newsletters and on "the loop" of announcements that run on TVs throughout the school.  Students request a pass at least a day in advance from the counseling office (A1) to be excused from class to attend any session. Students can prepare for these visits by talking to their parents, visiting school/military websites and thinking about a list of questions they might ask.

When seniors spend time with college and military reps, talk with their assigned counselor, visit our College and Career Room and read the Senior Bulletin, their futures will start to come into focus. We are here to help our seniors along step-by-step.

Sincerely,

Donna Varzaly

College Reps to Visit Brookwood

The counseling office organizes college reps to visit Brookwood throughout the year. Interested students may speak with admission personnel from these colleges.  Students should come by the counseling office (A1) to request a pass prior to the day of the visit.
