On October 19, special needs students & their parents are invited to a college fair to explore opportunities in transitioning after high school. More.

Rising juniors & seniors, who are interested in registering for the Grayson Technical Program for the 2014-15 school year, are invited to an Open House, October 24, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Grayson Technical School. Is your student taking the SAT on November 2? He or she can prepare with free review sessions in the Media Center, 2:30-3:00 p.m. Critical Reading, Vocabulary, & Writing on October 22, 23 & 24.  Math on October 28, 29, 30 & 31. Different video each day.

Connect to Brookwood 
The Homecoming Dance is October 26, 8:00-11:30 p.m. in the Commons Area. No tickets for sale at the door. Students need a ticket & a student ID to enter the dance.
The community is invited to the Homecoming Parade, October 25, 4:15 p.m. The parade winds through Brookwood Manor & down Dogwood Road in front of the school.

Students who paid for Homecoming Dance tickets on mypaymentsplus.com will swap the receipt for an actual ticket on October 21 & 22 during lunch.  Students must have their MPP receipt & a school or photo ID to receive their tickets. Dance tickets may be purchased for CASH during lunches on October 21 & 22. No checks.  Students must have a school or photo id to purchase tickets for cash. Maximum of 2 tickets will be sold. No tickets will be sold after October 22.

During Homecoming Spirit Week October 21-25, students have themed dress up days. Monday is Nerd Day, Tuesday is Decade Day, Wednesday is Character Day, Thursday is Sports Day & Friday is Spirit Day.
 
Driver Ed Class offered through the Community School, November 12-December 18 in Room A113, Tuesday-Wednesday 2:30-5:30 p.m. Registration starts October 15 in Room A3. Class includes thirty hours of instruction and six hours of driving. Price $345. Registration for at www.brookwooddriversed.com.

Ultimate Frisbee

Informational meeting for parents & players interested in Ultimate Frisbee, October 23, 7:00 p.m. in the Commons.

 

Fine Arts 

Dance presents Lost & Found, October 30, 31 & November 2, 7:00 p.m. in the Theater. $7 tickets on sale during lunches starting October 28 or $10 at the door. The story for the show is loosely based on Alice In Wonderland. Students in a 9th grade language arts class wrote the story & a student wrote a piece of original piano music for the show. The audience will decide how the story ends! 

The Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a "Spooktacular" Concert, October 24, 6:00 p.m. Admission is $5 per family. There will be a drawing during the show for a chance to win $500, plus spooky tunes & a costume contest.

Theater presents Raggedy Ann & Andy, November 12 & 14, 7:00 p.m. in the Theater. Tickets for students & adults $7 in advance or $10 at the door. Tickets are $5 for children under 13.
