Cary Kennedy  A MESSAGE FROM HEAD COUNSELOR CARY KENNEDY

Greetings!

It is tough for me to adjust to the back-to-school schedule and the demands of school.  I'm sure our students feel the same way.  Typically, after a few weeks, we'll all develop strategies to balance workloads and our anxiety will lessen.  The Brookwood Counseling Department is here to help when students feel school stress.

Counselors provide individual student and small-group counseling, plus run programs throughout the year for students during guided study periods.  We will be the ones at school who begin to explore college and career options with your student.  And, with the frequency of standardized testing, we will be here to support students as they prepare.

We will also work as parent-school liaisons.  If you need to contact someone at school to discuss your student, often we will be your first point of contact.  In addition, parent information nights will be scheduled throughout the year by grade level to make sure parents stay informed.  The Tack Room, our twice-a-month counseling newsletter, will also keep you up-to-date on what's up in Brookwood Counseling.

We look forward to a great school year,

Cary
