Students have been getting 2013-14 course recommend-ations from teachers all week. Our curriculum office will send these course selections home for parents to review in late March.
Members of the community are invited to review mathematics materials for classroom use in grades 6-12. Reviews are scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. February 11-22; 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. February 21; and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. February 23. All reviews are held at the Instructional Support Center, 437 Old Peachtree Road NW, Suwanee.
Six week progress reports will be distributed to students on February 19.
Coming soon...the most requested enhancement to the Student Portal. Starting February 20, students will have access to grades & drill-down specifics on assignments in a new "My Grades" tab.

Fine Arts
Cobble Creek Studios on Scenic Highway is hosting an art exhibit showcasing the work of Brookwood visual art teachers, all accomplished artists themselves, February 1-March 30. Reception tonight 7:00-8:30 p.m.
The theater production Blithe Spirit has been moved to March 6, 7 & 8. Theater will present three productions in the month of March. In addition to Blithe Spirit, see The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, February 28, March 1 & 2 and The Crucible, March 21, 22 & 23.

Senior formal cap & gown portraits will be offered after school in the Maroon Gym Lobby on March 20 & 21, 2:30-5:00 p.m. Cap & gown provided, but guys should wear a white shirt & tie. Students can sign up in B27. More info & prices.
For those of you planning to Run the Reagan in 2 weeks, there is a great opportunity for you to support the Brookwood cross country teams while paying no extra for your registration fee. For every person that registers as a "Brookwood" team member, a $5 donation goes to the Brookwood cross country teams. To register as a "Brookwood" team member, simply follow the directions below.
To register go to the registration site & click on "Register Now". When choosing a race, choose the "Team Member" option for your race. Complete the rest of the information on that page & click "Agree" at the bottom. On the following page, you will be able to click a drop-down box to select a team. Select the "Brookwood (Chris Carter)" Team.
Dance Marathon to benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, February 8, 6:00-10:00 p.m. in the Commons. This event is sponsored by UGA & the BHS SGA. $10 at the door covers food & a night of dancing & games by grade level. Freshman wear red, sophomores green, juniors blue, seniors black/camo.
Miss Brookwood Pageant is tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Theater. The show is SOLD OUT. There will be a brief PTSA general meeting in the Theater just prior to the show. Carnation bouquets from Daisy A Day on sale in the lobby.
Calling all bakers! The PTSA will host a chocolate dessert bar for the BHS staff on Valentine's Day. If you can help by baking a dessert or by collecting donations or serving, contact Bev Lee by email or at 678-344-0255.
