Brookwood Theater presents Twelve Dancing Princesses, Dec. 6 & 8, 7:00 p.m. in the Theater. Tickets on sale at the door. $7 for adults, $6 for students & senior citizens.

Principal for a Day
Principal for a Day Norwood Davis gets instruction from Teacher of the Year Laura Stanley before he takes over the baton to conduct the band.  Mr. Davis is CFO at 12Stone Church. The Principal for a Day program is sponsored by the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce & Gwinnett Co. Public Schools.

Before they take final exams, students must be current on any balances owed to the school. Please check MyPaymentPlus or the Parent Portal to ensure that your child's lunch account balance is current. Any money owed for textbooks or media fines is also due at this time.

Gwinnett Online Campus is offering informational sessions for students & parents interested in full time online schoolMore.  

 

If you are moving/withdrawing your student from Brookwood over the December break, please contact the counseling office at 678-344-2603 before December 19.

 

In June 2013, AP Environmental Science teachers will journey to Yellowstone National Park with a group of Brookwood students. Students will embark on a variety of research projects during the 9 day visit. This trip is open to any student at any grade level interested in the biological sciences.  Visit the website for more info.  The trip is limited to thirteen students.

Dec. 3-7 is HHH Week. Staff & students will work together on projects to collect donations for Helping Hands & Hearts, our care team that responds to those in need in our community. If you would like to make a donation to the cause, visit www.mypaymentsplus.com.

   

Miss Brookwood Scholarship Pageant applications & $35 entrance fee are due today. Email Carolyn Moshen or Pat Durkin with questions.  The Miss Brookwood Pageant is February 9th.

Through December 7, BHS is selling premium coffee to the community to raise money for Helping Hands & Hearts (HHH). $14 per bag & HHH keeps $7 from each purchase.  Order online using these instructions.

 

Favorite BHS Faculty & Staff recipes have been compiled into a cookbook now on sale in the Attendance Office. $10. All proceeds go to HHH.

Girls interested in track & field should go to the team website & click the link to sign up.  All will need a current physical on file at school. Physical forms are also available on the team website. Track & field season starts Jan. 22.

Fine Arts

Marching Band
For several months, the Marching Band has been part of online voting in The Bert Show's Battle of the High School Bands. Brookwood has won each round & proceeded to the next. It's down to the Final 4. Voting in this round ends Dec. 2. Winning band get a $5K prize. Vote at this link.

 

Visual Art Dept. will exhibit student art in the Community Room of Snellville City Hall, Dec. 4-30. Opening reception Dec. 4, 7:00-8:00 p.m.

 

Philharmonic Orchestra will play a side-by-side concert with the orchestras from Crews & Five Forks Middle Schools, Dec. 10, 7:00 p.m. in the Commons. 

 

Chorus concert Dec. 4, 7:00 p.m. @ Snellville United Methodist Church.

 

Band concerts Maroon, Gold & Concert bands side-by-side with middle school bands, Dec. 11, 6:30 p.m. in the Commons. Symphonic, Jazz Combo & Symphonic Winds, Dec. 13, 6:30 p.m. in the Commons.
