Holy Week- April 13-19 2014

Dear Gentle Reader,

It has occurred to me that I might send you a kind reminder that Holy Week begins this Sunday with Palm Sunday. Each day next week there will be special worship opportunities available to you. Recently, a parishioner mentioned to me that I suggested to her last year that she might participate in Holy Week more fully, and that by doing so Easter would be more meaningful and joyful. She tried it, and, indeed, it was. Celebrating Easter without observing Holy Week is much like having dessert before the main course meal. It is a temptation to have dessert first, yet how enjoyable it is in its place. Come at noon for Noon Day Prayer, pray and meditate in the Church or in the tranquility of the Carriage House Garden. Trace the steps of Jesus during his last week in Jerusalem each evening at 7:30 pm. Following is the Holy Week Schedule for your enjoyment and edification, that we might arrive at the joy of Easter Day!
