Child Care on Sunday

Where & When
Being organized for Sundays at 11:00.
Interested parents please contact the office!
A nursery school is being organized for the 11 AM service

The Christian Education Program would like to organize a child care service for children under four during the Sunday 11 AM service. However, in order to do this, we need to know your needs! Before we hire and train new personnel, we need a minimum commitment from interested parents, that is, that your child will attend at least an average of twice a month. As soon as we have a minimum number of children, we will get the service up and running!

Please contact the Church office at 055 294417.

The Children's Library at St. James has begun a fabulous new year

The Children's Lending Library was originally founded in 1973 to serve the English-speaking community. Today the Library's fiction and nonfiction books range from those for the tiniest toddler all the way to junior fiction with videos, DVDs and audio books in English available for both adults and children.  At Halloween, Christmas & Easter we celebrate with a children's party with seasonal crafts, games and homemade baked goods. The Library is a nonprofit, volunteer-run Association located in the St. James Church building. We look forward to meeting new families and always welcome new volunteers.

The library is open from September to June on Sundays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to noon and from 4:00 pm to 6.00 pm.

The Florence Gospel Choir School, Italy's first music school teaching African American vocal technique and culture, founded by San Francisco State University and City College of San Francisco alumnae, Nehemiah H. Brown, is proud to present San Francisco sopranos, Marrietta  Harris and Janice Buxton, in "This Is My Story, This Is My Song", based on the lated book, "The Other Side of Alzheimer's" by Ms. Harris.

Nehemia tells us: "It is a compelling story about Marietta Harris, which opens with her growing up in San Francisco's Pacific Height district. It speaks of her love of music, life and her family. It speaks of her calling, and the price she paid to be a caregiver ... I read the book on my flight from San Francisco to Paris.  I had finished it by the time we passed over London. I  laughed, I cried, and was challenged in my new role as a, "Caregiver."

Ms. Harris and Ms. Buxton, have previously toured with Mr. Brown in Italy. They will be participating in Mr. Brown's annual Gospel workshop in Frankfurt, Germany, "The Gospel According to Nehemiah", held at Christ The King Anglican Church.  In Florence, Italy there will presentations at the Methodist Church and The Basilica of Saint Mark, and at St. James Church with a final performance sponsored by the Alzheimer's Assoc. in Carpi(MO).  For more details, go to www,fgcschool.com.

The concert will be held at St. James on Sunday, November 7, at 8 PM.

A free will offering will be taken.

Ms. Harris and Ms. Buxton will also be providing the special music at the 11 AM service that morning.
