In our courses on Spirit-Led Leadership, we frequently talk to our students about the importance of listening to the Spirit and being willing to change as God so leads. When we made our plans for the fall, we didn't realize how much this truth would apply to us as well!
After seven years serving Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries all over the world, the Board and I decided it would be a good time for me to take a sabbatical. I will be attending to some neglected health issues, focusing on personal and professional development, and doing strategic planning for 2015 and beyond. Instead of going back to teach in Myanmar in person this semester, I will be providing curriculum and internet support for those who will be teaching in my place.
Please pray that we will be able to discern the Holy Spirit's leading during this time of sabbatical. We need guidance for each individual ministry, and wisdom to know how we can best advance our mission to teach, inspire, and encourage ministers and leaders around the world.
Thank you for your ongoing interest, support, and love. I look forward to seeing how God is going to lead, and having more to share with you in a couple months.

Praise God for...
- Faculty, staff, and volunteers in Myanmar who are graciously filling in for Tim to teach his classes in his absence this semester
- Builders who are now working on the second story of the Faculty Quarters at M.I.T. The project is to be completed by December.
- Josias Hansen and the significant contribution he has made to Faith, Hope, and Love Global Ministries over the past two years. He will be finishing his work as Assistant to the President on November 15. We are deeply grateful for his steady and helpful assistance in so many ways.
- A wonderful group of friends and supporters, who continue to encourage and stand with us in our various ministries

- Blessing on Tim's sabbatical, renewed health, and wisdom in strategic planning
- Dr. Eh Tar Gay and Sayama Kay Thi who will be filling in for Tim while he is on sabbatical, teaching New Testament Theology (two sections) based on Tim's curriculum this fall, and for the 180 students in the New Testament Theology courses they will be teaching
- Real peace and resolution to conflict between Kachin people and the Myanmar government
- Peace in Ukraine with justice for the people and wisdom for the church in the midst of civil unrest gripping the country and stemming from conflict with Russia
- Funds for the completion of the Faculty Housing on MIT campus--$145,000 still needed
