DISCOVER JEFFERSON CITY FOUNDATION
Fundraising event offers unique perspective from the Missouri River
JEFFERSON CITY, MO. March 26th, 2013 - The Discover Jefferson City Foundation is pleased to announce its third annual "Barge into History" fundraiser to promote tourism in the Jefferson City community.
After successfully selling out both nights of the 2012 event, the Discover Jefferson City Foundation will again offer two evenings for the 2013 "Barge into History" tour. The events will include a relaxing barge tour on the Missouri River which will offer unique views of the Missouri State Capitol and other downtown Jefferson City landmarks.

"The Barge Tour is a delightful event which has become a favorite of many in the community," said Amy Freeman, event chair. "We have received extremely positive feedback from attendees in the last several years and we are excited to continue to offer this rare opportunity as a way to garner funding for Discover Jefferson City."
The mission of the Discover Jefferson City Foundation is to directly support, through financial or in-kind donations, the Jefferson City Convention & Visitors Bureau by providing education and information about the diverse cultural, historic, educational, scientific, civic, and athletic attractions and events available in Jefferson City, Missouri. The money raised from the barge tour will go toward promoting the Missouri State Penitentiary tours among other top-priority activities established.
