Stalk the Ghosts of a Prison's Past
in Historic Jefferson City
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 15, 2012
JEFFERSON CITY, MO. - Want a dose of a creepy ghost? Delve into stories of paranormal activity within the walls of the historic Missouri State Penitentiary (MSP) with one of MSP's "ghost hunts" or "ghost tours." The penitentiary, built in 1836 and decommissioned in 2004, is world famous among paranormal investigators and enthusiasts for being a hot spot of ghostly goings-on. The infamous penitentiary - which was named by Time magazine in 1967 as "the bloodiest 47 acres in America" - has been featured on the Syfy TV network's hit show Ghost Hunters and many visitors have experienced some real-life ghost stories first-hand while exploring the facility.
