Vietnam veterans honored in special ceremony

In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnam War, the State of Georgia wants to honor every one of its 234,000 Vietnam War veterans. To accomplish this goal, the Georgia Department of Veterans Service, in partnership with the Office of Gov. Nathan Deal, has created the Vietnam War Certificate of Honor program.

As an avid supporter of our nation's armed forces, GreyStone Power plans to honor Vietnam-era veterans in our service area with a special ceremony and certification presentation in November.

Those Vietnam-era veterans who would like to apply should email the required information to events@greystonepower.com by Oct. 15.

Please send your name, rank, branch of service, dates of service and a COPY of your DD Form 214. You may scan your copy of the DD Form 214 and attach it to the email as a PDF. Please include "Veterans Program" in the subject line of the email.

If email is not an option, you may mail in the required information listed above. Please send to GreyStone Power, Attn: PRC Department, P.O. Box 897, Douglasville, GA  30133. Remember to include a COPY of your DD Form 214. You may also drop your information off in person at GreyStone's main office, located at 4040 Bankhead Highway in Douglasville.

Every Georgia veteran with honorable service during the Vietnam War, even if he or she does not belong to a veteran's service organization, is eligible to receive this certificate.

GreyStone will contact participants whose information has been verified to provide them with further details about the ceremony and certificate presentation.
