Together We Save - Tip of Month
VacationWinter Two degrees can make a big difference on your electric bill. Setting your thermostat two degrees Fahrenheit higher in summer and lower in winter results in major energy savings. Investing in a programmable thermostat can save even more-- these devices automatically lower and raise your home's temperature. Set it and forget it! Find more ways to save at TogetherWeSave.com.

It's your last chance to register for the final EE101 session of the year! Be proactive in making a change and get your home on track for savings, just in time for winter.

Come learn how to perform your own energy audit and start making a difference in your home. Visit us online at greystonepower.com and select EE101 Registration on our home page. Complete the online registration form, then mark your calendars as a reminder!

We ask that only adults attend this program. Though we love children, this event will not be best suited for them and may distract other members from learning.

Because seats are limited, we ask that seats be reserved for first-time guests only. If you attended a program in 2011 or earlier this year and have additional questions, please feel free to call our Residential Energy Services Department at 770-370-2252.

75th Annual Meeting of Members
Truck winner 2012What fun we had this year celebrating our 75th Annual Meeting of Members! We listened to your suggestions and made a lot of changes in an effort to make this year's event the best ever!

We are thankful and pleased by all of the kind words and comments that you have expressed on your surveys. It looks like the new layout is a big hit! If you haven't already sent us your survey, you can mail it to: P.O. Box 897, Douglasville, GA 30133.

A special congratulations goes to Burtlee Parson! She is this year's lucky Grand Prize winner and new owner of the 2006 Chevy C1500 truck! Have fun scooting around town Ms. Parson!

Winter rates are in season
As tAudit- measuring insulationhe seasons change, bringing excitement and holiday sales, we too are transitioning to our 'sale' time of the year with our competitive winter rate schedule.

In 2011, according to the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC), we were listed as the eighth lowest rate in the state. This year we are happy to report that our rates rank even lower than others! We are currently listed as the fifth lowest rate among the 42 electric cooperatives. Rates are based on the 1,000 kilowatt-hour (kWh) use mark, which is closest to the average use of our members per month.

The winter rate schedule runs from November through May. Take advantage of the season and conserve more energy by keeping your thermostat set at 68 degrees or lower. You will find that not only will your energy use decrease, but your savings will increase.

Because you matter to us, we want to provide you several different opportunities to help you save on your electric bill. The knowledge that you could gain by attending one of our Energy Efficiency 101 seminars could prove very beneficial in determining if your home is energy efficient through the summer or winter. As a member, you also have other resources at your fingertips. Be sure to visit both our website (greystonepower.com) and togetherwesave.com for numerous ways you can reduce your electric bill.

In the event that you have tried some of these helpful tips, but you are simply not seeing the results that you had hoped, give us a call! Our Energy Services team is ready to help! Appointments can be made for a free home energy audit that will help you determine where your problem areas may be. Give us an hour-and-a-half of your time, and our team will make some recommendations that could result in savings for you.

Want to see how our rates measure up? Check them out! Compare our rates to other cooperatives around the state and see how we rank.
