Building Community - Transforming Lives
ISSUE: # 77
FEBRUARY 2015
FROM THE DIRECTOR, CARRIE TURNER
You liked us - you really liked us!  Many thanks to the folks who liked us on Facebook last month.  It seemed as though we hovered at 499 likes forever.  After last month's newsletter, we made it past that seemingly insurmountable hurdle with loads to spare.

CTLS has always been happy to carry paper tax forms because residents wanted and appreciated this service.  This year, the IRS will be sending us a limited range of forms and no instruction booklets.  Forms and instructions can be downloaded, ordered from the IRS, read online or printed but they will not be freely distributed.  As far as we know, state forms will be available as usual.  Please ask a staff member if you need help locating a form.

Overdrive, the platform we use to provide ebooks and digital audiobooks, is made possible through state aid earmarked for countywide library services.   In addition, CTLS purchases titles to supplement the Montgomery County Library District collection.  In order to make informed decisions about our digital collection, we need to hear from you, the public.  Please take a moment to respond to our Overdrive survey so we know what you like and don't like about this free service.

Looking for love?  Romance readers can narrow their search for reading suggestions that meet their personal preferences in NoveList, using the following search terms:
TC Chaste
TC Mildly Sensuous
TC Steamy
TC Explicit
If you like amusing romances, use TC amusing GN romance.
(Note:  TC, which stands for Tone, must be capitalized.)

Cheltenham Township received a $40,000 state Keystone grant to renovate the public restrooms at the Elkins Park branch and to create a new family restroom.  The grant requires matching funds from the Township.  Thank you!

Finally, every year, we pick a day in February, Library Lovers Month, to express our appreciation for the support we receive from the Cheltenham community.  Drop into one of our branches on February 12th.  We will be serving light refreshments with a huge helping of gratitude.

See you at the library (and on Facebook)!
