Building Community - Transforming Lives
ISSUE: # 76
JANUARY 2015
FROM THE DIRECTOR, CARRIE TURNER
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy New Year!  We have some exciting programs planned for the year ahead.

I have a number of personal and professional reading/listening/watching goals for 2015.  Hopefully, they will be easier to keep than the usual diet/money/bad habits type of resolutions.  I hope, for example, to be more adventuresome in the New Year and try titles outside of the usual suspects.  The Rosie Project, The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, Gone Girl, The Age of Miracles and I Am Pilgrim, among others, were some of my favorite audiobooks of 2014 and fit this category.  I also hope to read more narrative non-fiction like Salt, Wild and In a Sunburned Country

If you need some reading suggestions, be sure to like us on Facebook.  We regularly post book lists and we are planning to host a reader's advisory service early in the New Year through that venue.

Finally, many thanks to the folks who contributed to our annual appeal and to those who applied for the open library board position.  Our libraries thrive because of community involvement and the hard work of the volunteers in our libraries and Friends groups and on the library board itself.

See you at the library (and on Facebook)!

Carrie Turner

Director

What I am currently reading: Landline by Rainbow Rowell.

What I am currently listening to:  I Am Pilgrim, written by Terry Hayes,  read by Christopher Ragland.
