ISSUE: # 70
 JULY 2014
FROM THE DIRECTOR, CARRIE TURNER
Looking for free activities for your kids this summer?  Our branches have planned an impressive schedule of programming with an emphasis on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math).  And many other  events for young readers and writers too.

Author David Lubar will be dropping by the Elkins Park branch in August to talk about his books including Dunk and Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie

Don't forget, we have print and digital copies of the titles on the Cheltenham School District summer reading lists.

The Glenside library garden is already producing summer squash and green peppers.  Stop by with your children to see how our garden grows.  This year we have mint, kale, raspberries, tomatoes, basil and many other edibles.  Learn how to serve fresh vegetables creatively with some of the beautiful new cookbooks in our collection:  Vedge (from the Philly restaurant), The French Market Cookbook and Afro-Vegan.

Do you need help with a technology-related issue?  Unsure how to download from our digital collections?  Every month our Technology Coordinator, Jeremy, offers one-on-one tutorials by appointment at each of our branches.  While we can't repair your device, we can help you with common questions and problems.  To book a one hour session, call 215-885-0457 or email Jeremy.

Finally, whether you are headed to the mountains, the shore or the backyard this summer, don't forget to pack your library card.  It can be used at most Pennsylvania libraries and to download ebooks and eaudiobooks from anywhere.

See you at the library (and on Facebook)!
