Shepherd of the Valley Transition Process
Over the next year Shepherd of the Valley will implement a transition process as Pastor Bryan retires and the congregation seeks to call a new pastor. A team has been appointed to oversee this process. This transition team is Caryl Benner, Sandi Engh, and Barbara Kaye. SOV staff resource to the team is Jan Garris, and the synod resource is Pastor Reg Shultz-Akerson, Assistant to the Bishop for Rostered Leadership.
The responsibility of the transition team is to oversee the steps involved in the transition and assure that the congregation moves forward in a timely and accomplished manner. It will include coordination of the other teams identified in the letter below.
There are several steps in the transition process. Note that some will happen at the same time, not necessarily in this order. You may read more about the transition process in the letter below.

Bringing the Caring Relationship to a Close
Stephen Ministry relationships go on until the crisis is past, the need for care is diminished (not necessarily completely
over), and the care receiver is able to cope on his or her own. In this session our Stephen Ministers explore how to know when it is time to bring closure to a caring relationship and how to do so in a healthy way.
