It's official we are heading into Christmas. Last week we had a wonderful start getting into the spirit of the season with our First Annual Winter Festival. We enjoyed playing games, drinking hot chocolate, decorating cookies, and making fun crafts.
This is also a season where we will be talking about Christmas. What Christmas is and why we celebrate. It is a joyous time! Sometimes it can get a little hectic and frustrating. Just remember it is a season for giving and doing for the good of others instead of me! This is the challenge for those of us with little ones, who by nature are ego centered. Since it is true that children learn much from the actions and attitude (and gratitude) of the adults around them we can consider the following Christmas gift suggestions:
To an emery, forgiveness
To an opponent, tolerance,
To a friend, our heart
To others, service
To all, charity
To oneself, respect
To every child, a good example.
Christmas Blessings and have a blessed New Year with hopes anew, from all of us here at Shepherd of the Valley Preschool.

As the holiday break quickly approaches, don't forget to register for the winter preschool session! We're offering half, full, and extended days. Please fill out the information below and return it to your child's teacher as soon as possible.

Last month we talked about all the things that we are thankful for, like family, friends, and of course toys! In December we look forward to learning about traditions that you and your family share. We will be singing a few Christmas songs. You are all invited to join us as we sing in the chapel.
I was so happy to meet with all of you and that I got to show you the progress your child is making at school. I wish each of you a Christmas filled with blessings, love, and joy. May the new year bring you peace and happiness!
