Announcement

Shepherd Preschool is delighted to announce that we received approval to open a new preschool classroom. Our youngest children (Blossom Room, ages 2-3 year old) will begin their educational journey in a new purpose-built classroom located just beside the quad area of our school. The classroom will provide a happy and exciting learning environment in which every child will be encouraged to grow to their fullest  potential.



This is an amazing opportunity to begin educating very young children and connecting with their families. If you have a friend or family member looking for the best preschool experience for their children, please send them our way! Director's Message



Dear Preschool Families,
 
We have started off the month of October with Fall/Harvest learning activities and the children have been talking about what they want to be for Halloween. It is a fun time for them and they can not wait for Halloween to come.  At times, witches, monsters, zombies and other scary things are brought up by the children. We help the children understand that these things may seem scary, but they are only people in disguise. It is important to validate the child's feelings of being scared, but it is as crucial to help them understand that it is only pretend and not real.
 
The staff and I have noticed that the children are getting acquainted with one another and are more comfortable making friends. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work with your children. They are an amazing part of our day! I have included a link to help you understand a little more about the stages in social development that they may be demonstrating at school as, well as at home.

Parade: 9:15 AM in The Quad (Flag area) 
Classroom Halloween Snack: 10:20 AM - 10:45 AM  
Halloween Mini Festival: 10:45 AM - 11:30 AM (during outside time).



Trunk or Treat & Fall Festival



Saturday, October 22, 4:00 PM - 6:30 PM

$8 per child to get in to do ALL Activities.

Parents & Children under 2 are FREE.

You will need to buy a tickets for food.


Join us at our Fall Festival for some fun, food, and games! Be a part of our Trunk or Treating fun, The Best Trunk Contest and Costume Contest! We'll also have a Bounce House, Face Painting, Photo wall, and more! There will be a snack bar with pizza, nachos, popcorn, watermelon slices, and drinks.



Trunk or Treat: You decorate the trunk of your vehicle in a Halloween theme. The children trick or treat in the parking lot going from trunk to truck collecting their candy. It is a safe way to trick or treat and fun for the whole family. The trunks are all judged and prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.



This event is guaranteed to be a fun one!



We need some volunteers & candy for the event. We will have a sign up sheet in the office and classrooms for the event.

In addition, please consider bringing your "Trunk" to decorate and pass out candy during the event or donate candy ahead of time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We Need Candy!



WE NEED CANDY for our Trunk or Treat & Fall Festival! We would appreciate if all parents could donate at least one bag of candy for this amazing event. You may drop off candy to our office or classrooms.

Chili Cook Off
Thursday, October 20, 5:30 PM



Please join us for a good old-fashioned chili cook-off, featuring some of our church's best cooks. There will be several different types of chili to judge. Simply come and enjoy the food and fellowship of our church family!

Blood Drive


Sunday, October 23, 8 AM - 12 PM



In connection with our Stewardship theme "Together We Give and Serve", we will be hosting a blood drive on Sunday, October 23.

Today we focus on "Give". Sign ups will be taken after worship or you may book your appointment online.

Our deepest condolences to the Jimeno Family. Bella Jimeno's (Garden Room) grandfather passed away. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Purchasing Scrip through Shepherd raises valuable funds that are used to make the needed improvements in school facilities and classrooms. Anyone can purchased Scrip to help the students of Shepherd. Scrip can be purchased at the office.
