Stephen Ministry Training classes

Stephen Leaders are pastors, church staff, and lay leaders who share a common passion-bringing Christ's love and care to hurting people.
We start a new series of Stephen Ministry Training classes on Monday evenings at 6:45 p.m. beginning September 12.

We ask you to keep our Stephen Minister trainees in your prayers as they nurture their gifts and acquire new skills so that they can bring Christ's love and care to hurting people on behalf of our congregation. Also pray for our Stephen Leaders who will guide them through their training. Here is what our Stephen Ministers will be learning next week.

The Person of the Caregiver
Our Stephen Minister trainees will receive an introduction to the 50 hours of training and will explore the Christ-centered foundation of Stephen Ministry.

If you are interested in the training,
please contact Julee Rich for more information.

Prayer Quilts

Can you touch a prayer? Can you pull it close and feel its comfort? You can if it's part of a prayer quilt.

The idea behind these quilts is simple, yet powerful. A heavy thread is used to take stitches through the quilt layers, and the ends are left free to be tied with a square
knot. As each knot is tied, a silent prayer is offered for someone in special need - someone who has asked us to pray for them. The quilt is then given to that person.

What makes each quilt so special is not the pattern, color or workmanship, but the fact that prayer is symbolically tied into each one. These comforters are a statement of faith, and a testimony to our belief in God and in the power of prayer.

Would you like to learn more about how you can help with or support this ministry? Here's what you can do:

--Be ready and willing to say a prayer and tie a knot.
--Donate 100% cotton fabric, Joann's or Amazon gift cards, or money to buy fabric, batting and ties.

Prayer Quilt Request forms are available to download here and our website. You can also pick up a copy in the office or narthex.
