SOV Preschool Work Party
Saturday, August 20, 7:00 a.m.
We are looking for volunteers to help get our preschool grounds in order and prep the playground for the new school year. This event is a great opportunity to meet the teachers and school families.
7:00 a.m. Playground Prep - Bring your shovels and pitchforks to help spread sand and refresh the bark.
8:00 a.m. Classroom Cleanup - Bring buckets and gloves and prepare to make the classrooms sparkle.
Please join us in making SOV beautiful!

Book Club This Sunday
Sunday, August 21 at 10:45 a.m. in library.
Each person is to select and read a book of their own choice with the word "House" in the title.
Example: "The Lake House" or "The Painted House" etc.
Bring back a short review of the book to share with the group and why it was chosen.

Please join us for a great night of fellowship and fun for the kids and adults. We'll be viewing a wonderful 2014 animated fantasy drama from Ireland. The film boasts narrative depth with it's visual beauty, adding up to an animated saga overflowing with family-friendly riches.

Anniversary Sunday Service, September 4
If you have a significant (five-year intervals or 50 years and up) wedding anniversary this year, please indicate so on the attendance registration form or contact the church office so that we may include you in the anniversary celebration.

LRCC Christian Camp Classic
Registration fees include: green and cart fees, BBQ dinner, gross & net awards, on-course contests and a donation to El Camino Pines. If you register as an individual golfer, you will be placed into a foursome. A golf package will be available for purchase at registration the day of the tournament.

re September 8 will receive the Early Bird rate of $130. All registrations received after September 8 will be
charged $150.

Lutheran Middle School Youth Gathering
November 18-20, 2016
Come join 300 Christian youth for a weekend where we build up our faith. Speakers, music, workshops and worship help us understand the roles we play in God's created world. A day at Disneyland and Hotel Night Life
make the experience complete.
This event is sponsored by members of the Pacifica and Southwest California Synods of the ELCA and Lutheran Retreats, Camps and Conferences (LRCC).

Stephen Ministry Training classes
 Stephen Leaders are pastors, church staff, and lay leaders who share a common passion-bringing Christ's love and care to hurting people. We will be starting a new series of Stephen Ministry Training classes on Monday evenings beginning September 12.
