Our Fishing Trip is this Saturday!
When: Saturday, August 13thCost: $65 a personWhere: Hooks Landing, 3600 Cabezone Cir Suite 115, Oxnard, CA 93035Time: The Coroloma will leave port at 6am and Dock at 5pm  16 and under do not need a fishing license.1 day fishing passes can be bought at the landing for $15. Pole rentals are available for $15. Contact Jeff Helgager if you are interested!!

Sunday, August 14, After Worship*
We will be preparing meals for the homeless, which will be distributed at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in North Hollywood, in partnership with Lutheran Social Services.
*If you can't make it to our service project events but would like to make a contribution to support them, please make a check payable to Shepherd of the Valley (in the memo section, please write "Service projects"), and place it in the offering plate or bring to the office. Or you may visit our website and make a donation through the 'donate' button on our website's home page.

Anniversary Sunday Service, September 4
If you have a significant (five-year intervals or 50 years and up) wedding anniversary this year, please indicate so on the attendance registration form or contact the church office so that we may include you in the anniversary celebration.

SOV Work Party
Saturday, August 20, 7:00 a.m.
We are looking for volunteers to help get our preschool grounds in order and prep the playground for the new school year. This event is a great opportunity to meet the teachers and school families.
7:00 a.m. Playground Prep - Bring your shovels and pitchforks to help spread sand and refresh the bark.
8:00 a.m. Classroom Cleanup - Bring buckets and gloves and prepare to make the classrooms sparkle
Please join us in making SOV beautiful!

Book Club in August
Sunday, August 21 at 10:45 a.m. in library.
Each person is to select and read a book of their own choice with the word "House" in the title.
Example: "The Lake House" or "The Painted House" etc.
Bring back a short review of the book to share with the group and why it was chosen.

Stephen Ministry Training classes
 Stephen Leaders are pastors, church staff, and lay leaders who share a common passion-bringing Christ's love and care to hurting people. We will be starting a new series of Stephen Ministry Training classes on Monday evenings beginning September 12.

LSS is in need of volunteers to help with data entry, intake at the front desk, and help in the food pantry,
Tuesday thru Fridays, in the mornings and afternoon.
