Soup & Service Tonight
Soup and Service Tonight, March 16 at 5:30 p.m.
A big thank you to everyone who has pitched in to help with setup and cleanup during the events.
Join us for our final evening of Soup and Service tonight from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Tonight's soups will be Beef & Vegetable and Lentil & Vegetable. We will start at 5:30 p.m. and conclude from 7:00-7:15 p.m.with a prayer and short reflection.
We are continuing to work on tying fleece blankets to donate to foster children, making paracord bracelets for the military, assembling care packages for the homeless, and drawing pictures/writing notes of encouragement to the home bound and military personnel.
We need to buy supplies for these projects. You can help by donating directly to SOV - simply write a check and in the memo line please indicate "Lenten Service Projects."

Annual Sanctuary Cleaning Party
It's Time to Clean!
Spring is the time for the annual cleaning party in the Sanctuary. This year we are going to have several opportunities to clean, ending in the Big Clean on
Saturday, March 19th. If you can make one of the optional dates, your helping hands are greatly appreciated.
Friday, March 18th, 10am - Noon Vacuuming of the Pews (Handheld vacuums needed)
Work on these days includes vacuuming, dusting and polishing, some window washing and a little de-cluttering and organizing.
Saturday, March 19th, 9am to noon - This is our major clean of the year and all hands, big and small, are appreciated! Tasks include washing and waxing the wood on the pews, sweeping and washing the tile under the pews and a major vacuuming of the Sanctuary.
Come for some of the time, come for all of the time, any time makes a huge difference. Help make our church shine for Holy Week!

First Communion for Third Graders
Third grade is the normal time for First Communion at Shepherd of the Valley. Students enrolled in our school will receive instruction during religion class. Parents of other third graders please contact Pastor Bryan to make sure your child completes the necessary steps to receive First Communion during the Holy Thursday service, March 24, at 7:00 p.m.

TK & Kindergarten Open House
There will a Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Open House on Thursday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for preschool parents to learn about our school and to meet our teachers. We welcome all families who are interested in applying for the 2016-2017 school year, as well as those who may have interest for a later date. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. Then the children will do some activities while the teachers meet with the parents. Come explore how Shepherd can make a difference in your child's life. Our Annual Rummage Sale is coming just in time to motivate you to spring clean and declutter!

We need lots of donations from your house, your garage, the closets, storage areas and even under your bed. You may be surprised by what you find and don't need!

LSS News & Events
Food for Pantry - LSS food pantry is running low. Please consider donating non-perishable, nutritious canned and dry goods to the food pantry. We are currently very low on: soup, vegetables, beans, tuna, Cereal, oatmeal, rice & pasta, boxed juice, granola bars, nuts, cookies and water for homeless.
EVENTS
This is a joint tournament with Ventura LSS. Money raised from this year's event will be used to support the LSS Emergency Assistance Programs at both Thousand Oaks and Canoga Park LSS offices.
