Read-a-thon
|
Pull out your favorite stories and get ready to read! Annual Read-a-thon begins on Friday, January 8.
Packets with information will come home this week.
Highlights include:
- Fifth & Sixth grade sleepover (this Friday night)
- Book Fair next Wednesday (purchase books to support our school).
- Reading Under the Stars and PTF General Meeting on Thursday, January 14 (wear your pajamas or comfy sweats to school - come back in the evening and read with your parents).
- Dress as Your Favorite Book Character Day on Friday, January 22.
- Pancake Breakfast for 100-percent participation. (signed contracts must be returned by January 15.)
- Free Magic Mountain Ticket for each child that reads a total of at least 360 Minutes. (tickets delivered in May for summer break).
Volunteers:
Volunteers are needed to count reading log minutes (can be done at home) and readers needed to read for "Reading under the Stars" night.

Preschool Palooza

Our Annual Preschool Winter Palooza is this Saturday, January 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Remember to invite your friends and family to our fun and FREE event! This is a great way to introduce our school to new families and friends. Parents can get information about our preschool and elementary programs, registration, and tour our campus. This year's theme is "Carnival." Highlights include a bounce house, face painting, arts & crafts, story time, playground fun, and games and prizes. There will be plenty of indoor activities in case of rain so come on by.

Junior Dance Enrichment
|
 Junior Dance enrichment registration has been extended until this Wednesday, January 6!
Junior Dance enrichment will give your child a FUN opportunity to experience movement through music! They will explore rhythm and patterns while they learn to appreciate and take care of the body God gave them. Dancers will learn the fundamentals of jazz technique with ballet influence, Latin rhythms, and a splash of hip hop.
Session Dates: January 7 - March 10
When: Thursdays from 3 PM - 3:50 PM (8 Classes)
Where: SOV Campus
Fees: $105
Grades: TK thru 2nd grade

Reminders

- There will be no Cherub Choir this week. We will start rehearsals next Tuesday, January 12. New 2016 spring registration and schedule will be coming home this week.
- Please remember to sign up for this month's pizza lunch if you haven't already! Sign up is on a monthly basis and is due Wednesday, January 6. You can order up to 3 slices now. Fill out the sign up form and turn it in to the office.

Pizza Thursday Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to help our students have an enjoyable Pizza Thursday. It's is a great oppertunity to earn 2 hours of your volunteer time on any given week. Start time will be at 10:30 a.m. and end at 12:15 p.m. Please let Wendy in the office know if you can help.

Gather, Learn, Share Event
hosted by the Church Vision Team.
January 12th and February 2nd at 6 p.m.
The next two Gather, Share, Learn Events will be ukulele lessons taught by SOV graduate Natalie Rowland.
If you don't already own a ukulele, George Kaye has graciously agreed to pass along a 10% discount on his already discounted prices on ukuleles for SOV congregants for the Gather, Learn, Share Events in January and February. Simply mention SOV at his store.
