Elementary parent teacher conferences will be held on
Thursday, November 5 - Friday, November 6.
A sign up sheet will be available at the office starting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 27.
*School will be closed on Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6 (Club House will be open).
Preschool
Preschool parent teacher conferences will be held on
Thursday, November 5. A sign up sheet will be available in the classroom starting tomorrow, Tuesday, October 27.
*Childcare will be available only during conference time. Preschool will be closed on Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6 for staff development.

Registration packets for the 2016-17 school year will be sent home on Thursday, October 29. Good news--no tuition or fee increases for next year!
The first registration installment will be due November 30. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

TK, K, 1st & 2nd Grade Field Trip
Tuesday, October 27, 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Field trip to the pumpkin patch at Underwood Family Farms. Please remember to wear your red SOV shirt, and you may wear jeans.
Make Up Picture Day (Preschool & Elementary)
Wednesday, October 28, 9 - 10 a.m.
Make up pictures will be available for students and staff who missed picture day.
Halloween Play, Costume Parade & PartiesFree Dress Day
Friday, October 30, 1:30 p.m. Join us for the Halloween play and costume parade! Children may come to school in free dress and bring their Halloween costumes in a labeled bag. Elementary classroom parties to follow. Turkey Trot Monday, November 2The 2015 Turkey Trot will kick off next Monday. More information to come. Parent Teacher Conference (School Closed) Thursday, November 5 - Friday, November 6 School will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6 (Club House will be open). Pizza Lunch Pizza Lunch sign up is on a monthly basis. Because there are only two school Thursdays in November, we will be combining it with December. The Nov.-Dec. sign up form will be available this week.

Elementary News

With one piece of construction paper, scissors, a ruler and a glue stick, the 5th and 6th graders were challenged to make the longest paper chain. Here are the amazing results! The longest chain was made by John (6) and Jeremy (5). It measured 22 feet, 9 inches!!
SOV Spirit Shirts 
Show your school spirit on Spirit Day! Order forms for our new 2015 spirit shirts have been sent home. Be sure to download a form here or pick one up from the office.
The orders are due by this Thursday, October 29.
Halloween Candy Split
Student Council is again sponsoring the Halloween Candy Split. After Trick-or Treating, please divide your candy into two piles. Choose one pile for yourself and bring the other pile to school next Monday or Tuesday. The candy will be included in sack lunches given to homeless and hungry people in downtown Los Angeles. Thank you!

New Class Coming to Preschool
Our new class starts next month! The Garden Room is for ages 3 1/2 - 4 years old. Many of our Blossom Room students will fill those spaces. A few spaces still remain but are going fast. The Blossom Room now has spaces for
2 1/2 - 3 1/2 year olds, so spread the news!
