30th Anniversary Celebration
We will be celebrating Pastor Bryan's 30th anniversary of his ordination this Sunday. A celebration brunch will follow the worship service. Brunch is $5 per person, max $20 per family. If you are planning to attend but have not yet paid for your brunch, please call the office by Friday to be included in the count. You may pay for your brunch at the door.

Minecraft Middle School Youth Gathering
Minecraft Middle School Youth Gathering will be happening November 20 - 22 at Warner Center Marriott, Woodland Hills. Come join 300 Christian youth for a weekend where they will build up our faith. Speakers, music, workshops and worship will help them understand the roles we play in God's created world. A day at Universal Studios and Hotel Night Life make the experience complete. Please fill out the permission slip
and emergency card if interested.

Book Club
 The SOV Book Club will meet at 10:45 AM on Sunday, October 25, in the Vaswig Library. We will be reviewing "THE BOOK OF UNKNOWN AMERICANS" By Cristina Henriquez. This book has been selected by the city of Thousand Oaks as their 2015 One City One Read novel, a citywide program. For more information, please visit thousandoaksreads.org. |
The Mission of Stephen Ministries
The mission of the Stephen Ministries organization is summed up in St. Paul's letter to the Ephesians.
"To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12-13).
These words describe why our organization exists, what we do for people and congregations, and the difference we hope to make in the world. You'll find these words written on the wall in the entryway of the Stephen Ministries Center in St. Louis, an encouraging reminder to our staff that always keeps us focused on our mission.

Annual School Fall Fun Festival
Get ready to enjoy our school's Annual Fall Fun Festival!
Saturday, October 17 from 1-5 p.m.
Everyone from the community is invited!
Highlights of the event includes:Velcro Wall Giant Bubble Ball & Raceway Airborne Rocket Ride 5th & 6th Grade Dunk Tank Xplosive Fit Break-A-Board Booth Professional Face Painter & Balloon Maker Obstacle Course Pizza & Concessions Bake Sale Pumpkin Contest (Bring your decorated Pumpkins!) Games and more! Not only is the festival a great time for fun and fellowship, it's also a fundraiser for the school. Please consider helping to support the event. There are still sponsorship and volunteer opportunities available.
*Bring a new family to the event and you'll both be entered into a raffle for gift baskets!
