Sunday School "Preview" This Week
9:00 a.m. in Founders Hall

Sunday School is having a 'preview' this Sunday, September 6, at 9 a.m., as we look forward to the official kick-off of the fall series on September 13. This week's story is "Daniel and the Lions." We begin in Founders Hall for a very brief all-ages opening. After the opening, which begins promptly at 9 a.m., students will go to either of two classes, one for preschool to first grade and the other for second through sixth grade. (We are starting small, but will expand as we grow. Opportunities for youth and adults will be introduced as interest is shown and leaders identified.) There will be coffee and fellowship on the patio from 9:00 to 9:30, as well as after worship.

Just before worship begins at 9:30, students will be released to their parents, or they may remain with Miss Kiki (one of our preschool teachers) for Sunday Club House, from 9:30-10:30. (Students may also begin worship with their families and be dismissed to club house after the prayer of the day.) They will have the opportunity to complete additional crafts or learning about the day's theme story, as well as enjoy supervised play. Older students who participate in worship will have the opportunity for theme-related activities that they can complete quietly during the sermon.

In addition, each child receives a take-home piece, which includes suggestions on reinforcing and experiencing the weekly lesson in the home. The fall lessons will present key stories from the Old Testament. Beginning in December and continuing through the spring, the lessons will be from the New Testament. Over a two year cycle the students will encounter a complete overview of all the stories from the Bible that are central to our faith and life. See you in Sunday School!
