Did You Know?
Water Costs Add Up at SOV

SOV uses a lot of water!
In 2014, our total water bill was $14,525. This covers all the water used for the entire year. (Sewer charges were an additional $4,786 in 2014.) As these numbers show, we have a strong financial incentive to practice water conservation. Of course, the drought is another important incentive, too.

Dave Engh, who holds the Trustee position on the church council, is undertaking a review of ways we can become wiser users of water on our campus. He invites anyone who has in interest in helping in this endeavor to contact him. As at our homes, we can expect further restrictions on water use at SOV, and we want to be prepared to undertake this in ways that will best serve our mission and ministry.

Male Chorus Concert Spring Show

It's that time again for the San Fernando Male Chorus to sing here at SOV. Come hear Ralph Mauriello and Carl Smith sing in a show called "Do You Remember . . . ?"  The show will feature a wide variety of songs from different musical genres. The musical styles presented range from "Begin the Beguine" by Cole Porter to Bert Bacharach's "Close to You".

Ralph's solo is the aria "Nessun Dorma" from the opera "Turandot" and he will be in a quartet along with Carl Smith, doing a comedy number called "A Little Tin Box" from the Broadway show "Fiorello."

The Chorus was organized in 1957, for the purpose of promoting male harmony. The chorus is a non-profit corporation, with no political or religious affiliations; just members from all walks of life with one common bond ... a love of music.

The Chorus will be in the sanctuary on Saturday May 30 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $18.00 per person, and when you buy tickets from Ralph, 100% of the proceeds go to SOV.
