Spring Clean 2012

Sanctuary and Grounds Cleaning is this Saturday,

March 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Help us prepare the campus for Easter week - even an hour will make a difference!

If you have cleaning items, pails and rags, please bring them along. We also need to 'round up' some weeds in the parking lot, so outdoor and garden tools are helpful if you'd prefer to work outdoors. This event is a true example of how "many hands make light work." Won't you lend a hand, to help make the facility sparkle?

Help make our sanctuary beautiful for Easter, donate an Easter Lily! The cost is $8. Order forms are available in the pews.

preschool news

Please spread the news and recommend our Preschool Program to your family and friends. We are almost full in Sunshine Room (3 1/2-4 years old) on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and are filling up on Tuesday/Thursday very quickly. In Blossom Room 2 1/2-3 1/2 years old) we are already half way full.

Summer Program & Vacation Bible School

The SOV summer program begins June 22 and goes through August 14. Registration forms will be available by the end of March.

VBS June 22-26, the theme is EVEREST...conquering challenges with God's mighty power! Your child will have a "mountain top" experience using their imagination, trekking through glacier games, singing at base camp, and taking Bible expeditions.

New for 2015: LRCC is providing two different programs this year. The Day Camp theme, "Go Fish," will be offered at SOV July 20-24. The on-site summer theme, "Anchored," will be at El Camino Pines, Luther Glen and Beach Campe. Your child can attend camp on-site and Day Camp and enjoy two distinct programs.

Foundation Plans Legacy Dinner

Shepherd of the Valley Foundation is planning for a "Legacy Dinner". This event is held to thank those who have designated a contribution to our Foundation through their estate plan. Such gifts would endow the work of SOV in the future. If you have made such arrangements, please fill out a short form, also available in the narthex so that we will know all those who should be invited to the dinner. If you have not made a designated gift, but would like to, call

Jan Garris (818) 348-8343 for details. The Foundation has resources available to help you set up such a gift.

We are currently planning the Legacy Dinner for the weekend of May 16-17.
