 Doug Gibson Announces Retirement

Please join us for Doug Gibson's retirement brunch!
This Sunday, March 1 @ 10:30 a.m.
(Immediately following worship service)
Please RSVP to Valerie in the office
by Thursday, February 26.

Mr. Gibson, as he has been known by students and staff, has been custodian, caretaker, and maintenance guru at SOV for nearly thirty years. His dedication to keeping SOV clean, safe, and beautiful has been a blessing to our church and school community. Thank you, Mr. Gibson!
(With his permission, we share with you that Doug's recent diagnoses with lung cancer prompted his immediate retirement. This is why our retirement celebration is being given with so little notice. Please keep Doug and his family in your prayers.)

Foundation Plans Legacy Dinner

Shepherd of the Valley Foundation is planning for a "Legacy Dinner". This event is held to thank those who have designated a contribution to our Foundation through their estate plan. Such gifts would endow the work of SOV in the future.  If you have made such arrangements, please fill out a short form, also available at services this Sunday so that we will know all those who should be invited to the dinner. If you have not made a designated gift, but would like to, call

Jan Garris (818) 348-8343 for details. The Foundation has resources available to help you set up such a gift.

We are currently planning the Legacy Dinner for the weekend of May 16-17.

Faith Quilt

Calling all high school seniors! Would you like a Faith Quilt? This quilt is formed from 12 squares, 10 of which are decorated by friends and family of the senior's choosing. The quilts are free. They are provided as a reminder of the Love of God and the SOV community. If you or someone you know would like one, please contact Bonnie Boord or 818.645.8135 by February 28.

Thank You from Lutheran Campus Ministry

Another thank you from a ministry partner:

We here at the Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Southern California thank God for you, our partners in grace! Your generous donation to LCM@USC is gratefully
acknowledged.

As an international student from Indonesia, LCM has been my home of faith for the past three years. I guess you could call me a byproduct of our mission statement, as I have been nourished by meaningful worship, enjoyed a loving community of Lutheran Christians, been challenged to grow, deepened my faith, and have had a lot of fun along the way, 9,000 miles from home.

Your faithfulness and witness have been heartwarming, and your continued love, support, and prayers are greatly appreciated.

In Christ's Service,
Michael Prabowo
