Shepherd of the Valley supports several ministry partners with gifts, as part of our regular benevolence giving. Each week in this new year we will highlight a year-end thank-you we have received from one of our partners:

to which we belong as a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Our congregation gave $32,500 to the synod in 2014.)
Thank you! The benefits of your generous mission support are felt throughout the synod and and indeed throughout the whole church. Your undesignated gifts provide the staff, networks and relationships that enable the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to carry out God's work.
Our synod regularly sends 49 percent of your mission support to the ELCA churchwide organization. Those funds support a staggering array of ministries: congregations, missionaries, seminaries, colleges and universities, campus ministries, early childhood centers, elementary schools, outdoor ministries, social ministry organizations, advocacy, and community development on a national scale. Much of the money we send to the ELCA is returned to the synod in the form of partnership grants, programs, staff and resources.
