Read-a-Thon

Thanks to everyone for turning in their reading logs! We've had a great start to our reading marathon.

- Cozy Sweats and Spirit Day - wear your cozy sweats to school. Spirit Day colors preferred but not required.
- Reading Under the Stars and PTF General Meeting at 7 p.m. Wear your sweats or pajamas. The general meeting will be held in the chapel. Kids get 60 minutes of reading credit while parents attend the meeting. Please bring a blanket.

- Dress up like your favorite book character
- Reading Log Due
The book fair will be every day after school. Buy books for yourself and look for the teacher's wish list to purchase books for your child's classroom. The book fair will also be open after church this Sunday.

Recycle Your Old Uniforms

 Do you have gently used uniforms that your child(ren) have out grown? Please donate them back to the school. Then shop our Used Uniform Sale Tuesday, January 27 from 8:00 a.m.- 9:00 a.m.
and from 2:30 p.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Creative Writing and Poetry Class
|
The NEW starting date for the class is Wednesday, January 28 and the deadline to sign up is next Monday, January 26, 2015. This class will enable students to think outside of the box, increase their reading and writing skills, expand their vocabulary, and expose them to creative writing and literature as a supplement to the existing curriculum. You can pick up a flyer at the office or download from our website.

Father-Daughter Dance
| The annual Father-Daughter Dance is coming up on Saturday February 7 from 6 p.m to 9 p.m. in Founders Hall. Girls in preschool through sixth grade and their dads or significant adult males are invited.
Our theme this year is "Hawaiian Luau"! Fathers dress in your Hawaiian shirts and daughters wear your Hawaiian skirts. Highlights include dinner, professional DJ, dancing, lei, and a keepsake photo. Aloha!

Have you found yourself with gifts or items you don't need or can't use? Have a favorite store that you think would like to donate to our auction? Ask them to donate to SOV's silent auction! Simply fill out a donation form and bring it in to the office with your items by Saturday,February 28. Please also consider donating tickets, passes, games, shows, etc. that your families might have.
Finally, we also need items to go in baskets, as well as the baskets themselves. Please look around your homes for items that are new and might be fun to find in a basket.
We need everyone's help to make this a successful event!

Recycling at Drop Off Thursday Morning

 Thank you for all your past recyclables. It is truly appreciated! We can only accept aluminum soda cans, plastic water bottles, plastic soda bottles and plastic milk containers. Please keep this in mind as you are organizing your recyclables for drop off Thursday morning.
