Minimum Day on Thursday, No School on Monday
|
This Thursday, January 15, school will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Students who are not picked up by 12:30p.m will be sent to Club House. Please join other families after school at Chili's West Hills for a fellowship fundraiser benefiting SOV. Don't forget to bring the coupon or pick one up from the office. Chili's scrip cards are also available at the office.
School and Club House will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday. The office will also be closed.

Read-a-Thon

Our Read-a-Thon is in full swing. Please make sure to turn in your signed contract by Wednesday,January 14.

The book cart will be out this week! Bring a book to swap.
Important Dates:
- January 16: Book Fair opens (purchase books to support our school)
- January 16: First reading log due
- January 22: Reading Under the Stars and PTF General Meeting (wear your comfy sweats to school - come back in the evening and read with your parents)
- January 23: Dress as Your Favorite Book Character on this day and second reading log due
- January 30: Final reading log due
- February 5: Pancake Breakfast (only if we have 100-percent participation!)

Preschool Palooza Fun

Thanks to all the family and friends that made it out to Preschool Palooza! Everyone had a lovely time, especially the children.

Father-Daughter Dance
|
The annual Father-Daughter Dance is coming up on Saturday, February 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. Girls in transitional kindergarten through sixth grade and their dads or significant adult males are invited.
Our theme this year is "Hawaiian Luau"! Highlights include dinner, professional DJ, dancing, lei, and a keepsake photo. Invitations and volunteer sign-up sheets will go home in student folders soon.

Silent Auction Gala Event
|
Families are requested to solicit donations from businesses they patronize. All donations need to be accompanied by the donation form. Donations are due no later than February 28, 2015 or they will not be able to be used in the event. Please also consider donating tickets, passes, games, shows, etc. that your families might have. Finally, we also need items to go in baskets, as well as the baskets themselves. Please look around your homes for items that are new and might be fun to find in a basket.
