Parent Teacher Conferences This Week

TK-5th Grade
Conferences will be held this Thursday afternoon, October 30 and Friday, October 31. Please sign up on the office window (if you haven't already). *School will be closed on Thursday and Friday, October 30 and 31 (Club House will be open).
Preschool
Preschool parent-teacher conferences are this Thursday, October 30. This is a parent-only meeting. Please sign up in your child's classroom.
*Preschool will be closed on Friday, October 31 for staff development.

Turkey Trot Kickoff
| 
Our Annual Turkey Trot Kickoff has begun! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We hope to reach our goal of $6500. The proceeds from this event will be used to redo our sports court (parking lot) and resurface the playground. Packets were sent home with your chil(ren) today.
The Turkey Trot will be held on Friday, November 21.

| Parent and Little Me Class |
Spread the Word!
Our preschool is now offering a Parent and Little Me (PAL) class for toddlers ages 18-36 months. The class will meet on Mondays and Fridays and will be led by preschool teacher Miss Beda. She will discuss parenting topics and lead developmentally appropriate activities and encourage bonding through songs, toys and movement.

TK-5th Halloween

We will be celebrating Halloween on Wednesday afternoon. Children need to come to school in uniform and bring their Halloween costumes in a bag.
1:30 p.m. - Staff Halloween Play and Student Parade
1:45 p.m. - Class Parties
If you are not scheduled to work in your child's class during the party, please join us for fellowship on the patio.

Halloween Candy Split
|  Student Council is sponsoring the Halloween Candy Split. After Trick-or Treating, please divide your candy into two piles. Choose one pile for yourself and bring the other pile to school next Monday or Tuesday. The candy will be given with meals to homeless and hungry people in downtown Los Angeles.

Recycling Reminder
| 
Thank you for all your recyclables. It is truly appreciated! We can only accept aluminum soda cans, plastic water bottles, soda bottles and plastic milk containers. Please keep this in mind as you are organizing your recyclables for SOV.

Butter Braids
|
 Butter Braids are now being sold to support the Youth Group of SOV who will be attending the National Youth Gathering in Detroit 2015. The Butter Braids come frozen, so they can be saved for the holidays or special occasions. There are 5 flavors to choose from and are $13 each. Please see Mrs. Van Meeteren to place your order.
