If you have a significant (five-year intervals or 50 years and up) wedding anniversary this year, please indicate so on the attendance registration form or contact the church office so that we may include you in the anniversary celebration.

Operation Gratitude
Operation Gratitude will assemble packages to send to our troops on Saturday, August 23 and Saturday, September 20. Shepherd plans to send a group to Operation Gratitude to volunteer from 9 a.m. to noon, and have lunch together afterward. The group will meet at SOV and carpool to the armory.
Please consider joining the group and contact Cindy Brown if you're interested. If you can't make it but would like to participate, please consider writing letters to our troops/wounded warriors/veterans and give them to Cindy.

School Work Party This Saturday
This Saturday, our school is looking for volunteers to help prepare the campus for the new school year. Please join if you have time to spare:
7 a.m. Playground Prep
- Bring your shovels and pitchforks to help spread sand and refresh the bark
9 a.m. Classroom Clean-up
- Bring buckets and gloves and prepare to make the classrooms sparkle
11 a.m. Lunch and Fellowship for volunteers

Meet Our Stephen Ministers
Kathryn Gulsrud
I was introduced to the Stephen Ministry at a previous church where I was trained as a Christ Care Small Group Leader.
The Stephen Ministry program has influenced my faith and strengthened my relationships with family and friends. I appreciate the training, continuing education classes and confidentiality of the program. We never mention names and all conversations between care givers and care receivers are kept confidential. I have been a witness to the gifts of caring and commitment to this program.
"The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." Isaiah 58:11.

Confirmation News
Confirmation will resume on Wednesday, September 3 at 7 p.m. with a meeting for parents and students in grades 6 to 9.
Registration forms must be returned by August 13. If you need one, please stop by the office or download one from our website.
Our ninth graders will be confirmed on October 26.
