Prayers for the Middle East
We lift our prayers for a resolution to the violence between the Israelis and Palestinians, and for hope they can once again resume peace talks.

VBS Volunteers

LSS Community Care Update
Here is the latest information on the LSS Van Nuys Community Care building, which was damaged by fire in May:
- The LSS offices can be reached at their original phone number: 818.901.9480 or email them
- There is no change in status of structure
- They are taking clothes but no food, however you may write a check or send funds for food
- All programs are in session except food pantry and computer classes
- Still providing bus coupons
- A new case manager is on staff part time to assist homeless individuals and families in finding housing - call them if you have a referral
- Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from T-F

The next SOV book club meeting will be held on Sunday, August 17, in the Vaswig Library at 10:45 a.m.
