Meet Our Stephen Ministers
 Renee Lambert
Hi my name is Renee Lambert. I have been a member of Shepherd of the Valley since 1996.
I decided to become a Stephen Minister because I wanted to give back for all that I have received in the past. The training was very intense and useful in my everyday life. I learned to really listen to my friends and family and not be so quick to offer a solution to their issues.
Some of my favorite activities include spending time with my family, friends and grandchildren, doing Tai Chi and yoga and traveling. I thank God for all my blessings.

Our annual rummage sale is coming just in time to motivate you to spring clean. Save the date: May 17 and spread the news to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
We need lots of donations from your house, your garage, the closets, storage areas and even under your bed!! You may be surprised by what you find and don't need!
Drop off will be Monday through Thursday, May 12-15, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
We need volunteers! Helpers are needed to sort, price, set up, sell, cashier and clean up. Please contact Pamela Merry if you can help.

Male Chorus Concert
The San Fernando Valley Male Chorus Concert will perform "Songs We Love to Sing" at SOV on Saturday, May 31 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 and are available from Ralph Mauriello - all proceeds go to SOV.

LSS Golf Tournament Auction Donations
On May 12, Lutheran Social Services will hold a silent auction during the Hal Manthei Golf Tournament dinner. If anyone has any tickets, gift cards rental homes/condos or other items you would like to donate for the auction, please contact Cindy Brown.

We have survived another tax season! Did you give more to Caesar than you wanted to? Jesus says in Mark 12:17, "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's."
Fortunately, our Caesar today is more generous and allows us to give more to God. In fact, our Caesar rewards us for giving to God and other charities by way of tax deductions. Moreover, we can actually give to God what would normally go to Caesar through creative tax planning, especially when it comes to estate planning.
