Valentine's Day

Friday is Valentine's Day Classroom parties begin at 1:45 p.m. Please remember that only those who are volunteering are allowed in the classrooms.
Thursday is Spirit Day Let's add a little red to our Spirit Day this Thursday to help celebrate Valentine's Day.

Fifth Grade Charity Fundraiser
|
On Tuesday after school, the fifth graders will host a bake sale to raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to terminally ill children. All items will sell for $1. The students sold their baked goods after church on Sunday and raised more than $220. Good job fifth grade!

Pancake Breakfast Fun
|
Thanks to everyone who turned out on Thursday for the Pancake Breakfast to celebrate our successful Read-a-Thon! A special thank you to the teachers for serving up a delicious meal.

Father-Daughter Dance

Invitations were sent home on Friday for the dance, which is coming up on Saturday, March 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Founders Hall. Please return your RSVP card and check as soon as possible.

Mother-Daughter Event

Save the Date: Saturday, April 26, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Shepherd is hosting a Mother-Daughter day at Make Meaning. Come to this fun craft shop with your daughter(s) and make soap, ceramics, jewelry and candles. This event is open to preschool through sixth grade. More details to come.

3-4 Field Trips
|
Third and Fourth grades enjoyed two wonderful field trips last week. The first was to the Stage Coach Museum where students participated in an 1890s classroom and panned for gold. The second trip was to the Getty Center where everyone enjoyed the beautiful garden and took an in-depth look at several pieces of art.

Students Study Abe Lincoln Together

The fifth graders are reading about Abraham Lincoln's life and the first and second graders are writing about what they have learned about President Lincoln. The students shared their knowledge with each other.
