James Barnes is Chief of the Workers' Compensation Section in the Office of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine. He previously served as General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer at the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and as an Assistant Attorney General. He is a graduate of the Cleveland State University - Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. This presentation will address:

Issues in R.C. 4123.512 appeals
Initiation of court case by the parties
Who does the AG represent?
What is the "discovery" process?
Presentation of the case to the jury and/or judge
What happens after the jury verdict?

REMINDER: Annual Awards will be presented on April 1 at the Chamber's Spring Break Event.

A buffet breakfast will be served starting at about 7:45.
Meetings are called to order shortly after 8 am.
The fee for Safety Council is either $10 per meeting or $110 per year if paid in advance. (Safety Council members will be invoiced for the year in August)
Guests are very welcome.
It is not necessary to RSVP unless you are bringing extra people with you.
