THANKS FOR YOUR ECONOMIC IMPACT
The philosopher Plato said "What is honored in a society will be cultivated there."
That's one big reason why the Chamber and the Port Authority are partnering right now to say "thanks" to area businesses. It's appropriate to appreciate the contributions of businesses in our community, we want them to do well here, and we want more of them. To carry this message a mailing is being sent to all area businesses this week to communicate that, and social media will be used to reinforce that sentiment.
Local companies of all sizes and industries have a major impact on the community. They pay taxes, employ people, provide services and products, purchases from local suppliers, and support projects and causes. The result is solid public services, an improved standard of living, money circulating throughout the economy, thriving charitable organizations, the capacity to deal with societal problems, strong small enterprises, and overall prosperity.
Please watch your mail for our message of thanks and visit our Facebook page to view and comment on our post related to this issue. And thanks again!

JOB CREATION ASSISTANCE
The Job Creation Tax Credit is a refundable tax credit to companies generally creating at least 10 new jobs (within three years) with a minimum annual payroll of $660,000 that pay at least 150 percent of the federal minimum wage. The tax credit is measured as a percentage of the state income tax withholdings for all new employees hired under the program, and is applied toward the company's commercial activity tax liability. A business must apply for the credit before committing to the project. Applicants must be approved through the Ohio Tax Credit Authority before hiring begins. STREAM LIVE VIDEO
Live video streaming isn't a new concept, but what is new is the availability of technology that make streaming more accessible to everyone. It's no longer necessary to invest in expensive hardware and software that only the biggest brands could afford. Smaller businesses and consumers have been getting involved since early last year, and it's expected that video streaming is going to explode in 2016.
