Happy New Year!

BRIGHT SPOTS
Did you know that the Stone Academy is one of the oldest and arguably the most historic buildings in Muskingum County and Ohio? It was constructed in 1809 and was designed to serve as the state capitol building (but it never did) and was recognized by the National Park Service for its significance in the abolitionist movement. Visit our "Bright Spots" website for more about the positive aspects of our community.

2 STEPS TO IMPROVE YOUR ONLINE PRESENCE IN 2016
  • Take advantage of your new free digital marketing member benefit, Save Local Now (SLN). The advantage is you can create a post, place it on your social media accounts, and email it to your contact list, all from one online account. Make sure your business profile at SLN is in tip-top shape, including a 250 word business description (Google will love this!) and at least 10-20 keywords.
  • Expand and customize your online directory listing at zmchamber.com. Member listings in the business directory received more than 206,000 views in 2015, so this is a common place for people to find you online. Make sure your information there is up to date, as descriptive as possible, and effectively promotes what you do. For instructions on how to log in to your account and enhance your listing visit zmchamber.com or contact Dana Matz at dmatz@zmchamber.com.

On New Year's Day the Artist Colony of Zanesville will be hosting its monthly First Friday Art Walk. Galleries and studios in downtown Zanesville will be open from 5 to 8 pm. This is a terrific opportunity to network, see some first class artwork, and support the Artist Colony and the Downtown area.  For more information visit www.artcoz.org.

LOCAL ECONOMIC DASHBOARD
The latest Economic Dashboard for Muskingum County is available, courtesy of our partners at the Muskingum County Library System.
  • It provides local economic indicators such as auto sales, real estate transactions, unemployment rate and others.
  • ALSO, we are seeking a single sponsor for this service so that we can upgrade both the data provided and the presentation.
  • Click here for an example of the interactive dashboard we would like offer.
  • Contact Tom Poorman or Dana Matz for more information on becoming the exclusive sponsor of the Economic Dashboard.
