Safety at AK Steel: Cut prevention initiative

Cuts and lacerations are one of the most common injuries in the workplace. However many of these injuries can be prevented by a concerted effort and the use of the right personal protective equipment. AK Steel took a proactive approach to this problem in their workplace and created an initiative to reduce the incidence of cut and punctures. Chad Neighbor will talk about the importance of workplace safety in general and explain the policies, procedures and products they used to address the issue.
- A buffet breakfast will be served starting at about 7:45.
- Meetings are called to order shortly after 8 am.
- The fee for Safety Council is either $10 per meeting or $110 per year if paid in advance. (Safety Council members will be invoiced for the year in August)
- Guests are very welcome.
- It is not necessary to RSVP unless you are bringing extra people with you.
