PROMOTE YOURSELF AS EXPERT
Trying to build your reputation and establish yourself as a subject matter expert? Then consider submitting to the new "Chamber Experts" section of our website. It will feature instructional articles and columns written by members about topics in their areas of expertise. Audio and video recordings are welcome, too. This service provides members with a way to establish their qualifications and knowledge in their professional field and promote their business. It also provides other Chamber members with a valuable resource they can use to improve their own business and enhance their personal knowledge. To submit a column or how-to article of approximately 500 words (or a video or audio file of about 2 minutes in length), email tpoorman@zmchamber.com.
MARKETING TO OIL & GAS
Thanks to the partnership between the Chamber and ShaleMart.com, your business is already listed in the business directory online at ShaleMart.com. LEGISLATIVE AGENDAS
If you are interested in public policy and its impact on businesses you may like to know about the agendas of two business organizations in Ohio. NFIB's small business agenda for 2015 is a list of policy priorities for the state General Assembly that the Ohio branch of the National Federation of Independent Businesses has adopted. The agenda specifies what NFIB would like to see done on behalf of Ohio's small businesses on subjects like workforce development, workers' compensation, taxes, healthcare and more. Likewise, the Ohio Chamber publishes its Policy Priorities. Topics they are working to see addressed at the state level include energy, taxation, workforce and regulatory policy.
STARTING SOCIAL MEDIA
If you are trying to get your business started using social media, here's a great resource from Social Media Examiner. This site includes free how-to information like a Social Media Marketing Industry Report in both print and audio versions, and articles about how to bets use Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and more.
