ELECTION ANALYSIS

This Friday is the annual event where we focus on what's going at in state government, sponsored by AT&T. It will be held on November 14 from 11:30 am to 1 pm at Bryan Place. Senator Troy Balderson and Representative Brian Hill will be on hand to make remarks and take questions. Also, Ben Lanka, Enterprise Editor for the Media Network of Central Ohio, part of the Gannett Co, will provide a post election analysis of the political situation in Ohio. Lunch is $15 per person. WORKPLACE CONFLICT

The Muskingum County Human Resource Management Association meets on Wednesday, November 12 at 8 am and the topic is "Managing Workplace Conflict". The presenter is M.J. Clark, from Integrated Leadership Systems, LLC. Chamber members are welcome to attend, and the fee is $10 per person for non-members of the HR association. ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Total nonfarm payroll employment in the U.S. rose by 214,000 in October, and the unemployment rate edged down to 5.8 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported last Friday. Employment increased in food services and drinking places, retail trade, and health care. PROVIDE CITY INPUT
Chamber members are invited to provide input into the upcoming Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) process in the City of Zanesville. The Community Development Department is hosting meetings to introduce the CDBG process to the public and to inform the community of opportunities, receive feedback, and find potential projects in the downtown area for potential aid. Meetings will be held Monday, November 17 at 5:00 pm and Tuesday, November 18 at 1:00 pm. The location for both meetings will be City Hall, First Floor Conference Room, 401 Market Street, Zanesville.
