WAGE SURVEY

 We need YOUR participation in the annual wage and benefit survey for Muskingum County employers. To participate please go to www.zmchamber.com and follow the link for the wage survey. Participation helps you know where your compensation stands in comparison to other employers, and it helps us provide a valuable service to both existing and prospective new businesses.

  

HIRING?

A job fair for area employers willl be held on Wednesday, November 12 from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Muskingum County Welcome Center. The job fair is presented by:

  • Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority
  • Muskingum Valley Human Resource Management Association
  • Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce

LEGISLATIVE LUNCHEON 

Mark your calendar now and watch for more details about a Legislative Luncheon being held on November 14 from 11:30 to 1 pm. The event is sponsored by AT&T. State Senator Troy Balderson and State Representative Brian Hill will make remarks and take questions. Also, Ben Lanka, Enterprise Editor for the Media Network of Central Ohio, part of the Gannett Co, will provide a post election analysis of the political situation in Ohio.

 

 

  

 

 

FIRE SAFETY

This week's Safety Council meeting features a presentation on the Zanesville fires inspection program for commercial properties.   Deputy Chief Eric Waltemire will discuss what the department looks for during a commercial building inspection and how businesses can themselves identify fire hazards.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday October 22 from 8 to 9 am at Zanesvlle Country Club. 

 

FESTIVAL OF TREES

The festival is an annual fundraiser and community holiday event hosted b the chamber and sponsored by WHIZ Media Group.  We are currently accepting entries in the festival/auction, and you are encoruaged to participate to promote your business and support our programs. Here's more information about being part of the Festival of Trees.

CHAMBER EXPERTS

Please consider submitting to the new "Chamber Experts" section of our website. It will feature instructional articles and columns written by members about topics in their areas of expertise.Audio and video recordings are welcome, too. This service provides members with a way to establish their expertise in their professional field and promote their business.  It also provides other Chamber members with a valuable resource they can use to improve their own business and enhance their personal knowledge. To submit a column or how-to article of approximately 500-750 words (or a video or audio file of about 2 minutes in length), email tpoorman@zmchamber.com

he Ohio Chamber of Commerce offers free webinars on human resources topics through its HR Academy. All webinars take place on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The webinars are free, but you must register online. Upcoming topics include:
