CONSUMER CONFIDENCE - The national Consumer Confidence Index edged up in May for the fourth time in six months and was within 0.9 points of March's six-plus year high (highest since January 2008); however with the Index registering at 83.0, it remained below the 90.0 level that is considered to be a healthy reading.
