Networking - The Chamber's Spring Golf Outing will be held THIS THURSDAY, May 29 with a shotgun start at 12 noon at Eaglesticks. This event will be an 18 hole four person scramble.  Dollar General, Eclipse Resources, and CareWorks are the major sponsors of the outing. Team entry fees are $250 and hole sponsorships are $50.  To register email jmasterson@zmchamber.com. 

 

Workers Comp - Scott St. Clair from the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation is the presenter at this Wednesday's (Safety Council meeting).  Scott, who is a business consultant for the bureau, will be explaining the upcoming change to prospective rating on your worker's comp premiums.  Any chamber member is welcome to attend.  The admission fee is $10 per person which includes a breakfast buffet.  The meeting is from 8 am to 9 am at Zanesville Country Club on May 28.  Please make reservations by emailing tpoorman@zmchamber.com. 

 

Your Opinions - This is the last week for the Chamber's "Six Minute Survey", and we encourage members to go to www.zmchamber.com to complete the brief questionnaire.  Your ideas and opinions help us stay in tune with the needs of members and identify how we can improve.  The survey link is listed under Current News & Events on the home page.

Unemployment Rate - As one measure of economic status, Muskingum County's unemployment rate dropped in April to 7.0% from 8.6% in March and 9.6% in April 2013.  Its remains higher than the state average which was 5.3% in April.
