Member Survey - The Chamber's "Six Minute Survey" is currently underway, and we encourage members to go to www.zmchamber.com to complete the brief questionnaire.  Your ideas and opinions help us stay in tune with the needs of members and identify how we can improve.  The survey link is listed under Current News & Events on the home page.

 

Human Resources - The monthly meeting of the Muskingum Valley Human Resource Management Association is Wednesday, May 12, from 8 to 9 am at the Chamber offices.  The presentation topic is employee alignment and the presenter is Larry Triplett from the Muskingum County Business Incubator. 

 

Tourism Marketing - The Experience Adamsville Consortium will be meeting on Thursday,  May 15 at 1:30 PM at Alpacas of Spring Acres - anyone interested in attending this meeting is welcome to attend please call Kelly Ashby at 455.8282 or kashby@zmchamber.com if you need more information.

Golf Season - A new Spring Golf Outing will be held by the Chamber on Thursday, May 29 with a shotgun start at 12 noon at Eaglesticks. This event will be an 18 hole four person  scramble.  Dollar General and CareWorks are the major sponsors of the outing - if you are also interested in sponsoring please contact Dana Matz at dmatz@zmchamber.com. Team entry fees are $250 and hole sponsorships are $50.  To register email jmasterson@zmchamber.com. 

 

Local Spotlight - Use our online buyer's guide and member directory  to check out local suppliers who can meet your needs. Remember, buying locally makes for a healthier local economy which retains and creates jobs for local people.

 

Ribbon Cutting - Business owner Leisa Dennis and local officials will cut the ribbon on her  new store, The Forget-Me-Not Shop, on Friday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m.  The shop is located at 530 Main Street in downtown Zanesville.  All chamber members are invited to attend.

 

Millennials at Work - The Ohio Chamber is hosting a free webinar on managing this important segment of the workforce (age 32 or younger). On Wednesday, May 14 at 10 am an insightful presentation titled "Putting a Man on the Moon: Managing and Rewarding Performance in Today's Multigenerational Workforce" will be led by Brad Bennett from Fishel Hass Kim Albrecht LLP.  This presentation will provide an overview of the characteristics of each generation making up today's multi-generational workplace, and supply tips for managing and rewarding each generation.  Register Now.

 

Big Ideas - The MCBI Regional Big Idea Contest is designed to identify businesses and entrepreneurs who have innovative and unique ideas but don't know where to go or assistance to develop and commercialize them.
